Listening to the live music for a bit and chatting with a friend, we called it a night around 11 PM. We opted for Mexican rice bowls, mine with chicken and Don’s with pork. While I preferred the Asian dishes from dinner last night, Don preferred the Mexican from lunch today. We then headed upstairs to the pool deck for another exclusive Carnival Jubilee event, the Lone Star Tailgate.

Ocean View Staterooms
They include drawings by children from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Dr. Seuss characters and wildlife scenes that will make you feel like you're sailing in different areas of the world. For example, the pool deck, with its citrusy color scheme and vintage smokestack design, is like something straight out of the '70s. Carnival Jubilee has the fleet's fourth "Big Chicken" restaurant at sea (by Shaquille O'Neal). Many menu items are developed by the basketball player himself, the rest are based on the celebrity's favorite food recipes.

The large Jubilee Casino is on deck 7, spanning through and beyond the second story of the Grand Central atrium. Kids (and kids at heart) might enjoy The Warehouse arcade, which is adjacent to the tweens’ club on deck 17. BINGO, a classic game to pass time on a sea day, is also on the schedule aboard Carnival Jubilee. Down on deck 6 in the underwater-inspired Currents zone is a fun octopus-themed bar called Dr. Inks Ph. D. On the bottom floor of the atrium is the Center Stage Bar with the ship’s lively Piano Bar 88 just around the corner.
An Entertaining Night on Carnival Jubilee
Chibang and Cucina del Capitano are both open for lunch on sea days with a reduced menu. Cucina del Capitano has a few apps and entrees along with pasta bar. Chibang’s menu features Asian noodle bowls and Mexican rice bowls. While I got ready, Don spent about 1.5 hours collecting content from various areas around the ship. When he returned with our morning coffees, we decided to join the virtual queue for Sea Day Brunch.
MSC to Construct New Hospital Ship for People in Africa
For those looking for a little adventure, there’s the Ultimate Playground zone. This area of the ship features one of the best attractions at sea, Bolt. This electric rollercoaster at the top of the ship is certainly a thrilling experience, albeit an up-charge activity.
Carnival Jubilee rooms are designed for comfort and efficiency, and they especially appeal to families and groups traveling together. Whereas other cruise lines offer over-the-top suites, Carnival Jubilee’s focus is on comfortable cabins that fit a variety of travel styles. That’s not to say the ship doesn’t offer suites – 181 of the ship’s 2,687 rooms are suites. But the suites aren’t as large as some offered by other big megaship cruise lines, and most cabins are designed to accommodate more than two guests.
Conflicting styles that worked surprisingly well together were a theme that kept repeating on board. Carnival Jubilee is, after all, a throwback ship, designed to pay homage to some of the fleet's original vessels. It seems fitting it would meld elements from previous decades with a more modern flare.
More about Carnival Jubilee
The ship additionally offers mixers of all kind, Bingo and even impromptu sessions up-close magic, courtesy of wandering magicians who will blow your mind. What's nice about Carnival's newer ships is that they offer a choice of more cabin categories than the line's older vessels. The room stewards worked hard to make sure every cabin was sparkling and set up just perfectly.
Carnival Jubilee Itineraries
Made up of the largest ships in the fleet, the class also includes the 2020-built Mardi Gras and the 2022-built Carnival Celebration. Give me one or two pina coladas on a weeklong cruise, and I'm good to go. However, the massively creative options on the menus at both the Golden Mermaid and Dr.Inks, Ph.D. bars are absolutely worth a shoutout.
The former features a bit of a retro vibe, and the latter is backed by a giant light-up wall that looks like wave. I also wasn't impressed with how long it took a bartender to ask for my order, especially since it wasn't particularly crowded. In addition to a fun selection of cocktails — some of which involve candy — the bar's theme is tied to an animated octopus named Dr. Inks.
This is perfect for parents to have the opportunity for a fun night out. Up on deck 17 are separate spaces for tweens (Circle C for ages 12-14) and teens (Club O2 for ages 15-17). Oder kids and teens can enjoy dance parties, games, karaoke, video games, and organized activities around the ship such as sports tournaments and movie nights.
While we’ve only sailed with Carnival a few times, we remembered her from our last trip. While we had intentions of testing out the waterslides later in the day, we never made it back. Instead, we grabbed our laptops and did some work in Serenity for a few hours. Serenity is the adults-only area on the ship and is quite large. We really like that this is a complimentary activity, and as far as thrills go, it’s just as thrilling as the Crown’s Edge on Icon of the Seas that comes with a hefty up-charge. There are various challenge levels, including a small zip line, a plank, and even a ropes component off the side of the ship.
All signs point to ambiance — and serious flavor — so try a burger dressed up the way Guy likes it, or take it off-roading… to the nearby topping bar, where you can make it your own. Somebody at Carnival knows just what you need, and it's pretty much exactly the Serenity Adult-Only Retreat™. Look, you'll still be on the same ship as the kids, the hoopla, and all the Carnival-style excitement... But you could easily forget, because when you're at Serenity you could not be further from it all.
